Officer Cadet Owowoh Princess Oluchukwu made history on Friday by becoming the first-ever Nigerian female officer to graduate from the UK’s prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). At the age of 24, Oluchukwu was among the 135 Officer Cadets who graduated during RMAS’ Sovereign’s Parade in London, United Kingdom.
Background and Journey to RMAS
In 2018, Princess Oluchukwu began her military journey by joining the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) located in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Her dedication and hard work were evident as she progressed through the ranks during her time at the NDA. She was appointed as a Cadet Lance Corporal in her second year, a Cadet Sergeant in her fourth year, and eventually rose to the esteemed position of Company Senior Under Officer Charlie (CSUO C) in her fifth year.

The culmination of Officer Cadet Oluchukwu’s remarkable journey occurred on Friday at RMAS’ Sovereign’s Parade.
